Home tour in St. Oak Apartment

Nora Eiserman and Laura Muthesius, the creative duo behind the popular recipe and design blog Our Food Stories recently renovated their dream St. Oak loft apartment in Kyritz. They are passionate about food traditions, good design, and interior decor. Through their platform, they share delicious gluten-free, vegetarian recipes and beautifully curated images. We have had the pleasure of collaborating with Laura and Nora for several years. Their newest holiday apartment features By Mölle linen curtains in sea shell throughout the space, which beautifully complement the colours of the cozy home. You will also find our linen bedding in warm white and wheat, layered with sea shell linen throws. We are excited to share a selection of their wonderful photos with you.

"We decided to write this blog while Laura was feeling unwell due to food allergies. We started cooking together every day, frequently searching for new recipes but never really satisfied with what we found. Our aim was to create delicious gluten-free cake recipes that taste as good as regular cakes. At that time, it was nearly impossible to find a gluten-free cake in a coffee shop in Berlin, and the rare gluten-free sweets in organic shops didn’t taste very good. So, we began creating our own recipes, and they turned out so well that we wanted to share them. All our recipes are gluten-free and vegetarian; some are vegan, and some are refined sugar-free. In addition to our love for food, we have a huge passion for good design and interior decor that have a soul. We really enjoyed styling and capturing food, and a few years later, we shared our overall passion for design and interiors. To this day, we love working with food and design as it’s a fine combination, full of variety."

"St. Oak is a newly renovated vacation apartment from 1912, located in the historic town of Kyritz in Brandenburg, Germany. Kyritz, a picturesque town with a rich history north of Berlin, can be reached in about 90 minutes by train or 1.5 hours by car. The St. Oak apartment is situated on the town square and offers views of the 200-year-old oak tree and the charming old town hall. We renovated this special house with great attention to detail, combining our passion for interior decoration and craftsmanship. We carefully designed the interior to create a calm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and inspiration. The loft apartment spans 160 m² and features an open living and kitchen area and two double beds, suitable for up to four guests. The historic oak tree, planted in 1814 to commemorate the victory over Napoleon, stands on the market square, allowing you to enjoy its soothing presence from every window of the loft apartment."

“The beautiful linen curtains from By Mölle really transform this corner into the most cozy spot. We also really like the linen blinds for the smaller windows. We chose the color sea shell and it really matches the walls and interior so effortlessly well.” Laura & Nora

why Kyritz?
"Kyritz is a charming and quiet town, with many beautiful old houses. Opposite St. Oak, you can see the striking historic red brick town hall. During the day, you can enjoy the tranquil small-town life, and in the evening, it is particularly quiet. On hot days, you can buy a few scoops of ice cream at the market square and enjoy it under the cooling shade of the oak tree. A local weekly market takes place on the market square on Tuesdays and Fridays and there is a small organic food store within walking distance. By bike, you can reach the lake in 15 minutes. Here, you can rent pedal boats and rowing boats or simply look for a nice, quiet place and take a swim."

what inspires you?
"Nature is what inspires us most. Apple and pear trees, berries, cherries, walnuts, elderberries, fresh herbs, and many more things are growing in our garden. Almost all the food we use for our recipes and in our daily life is from an organic shop, from our garden, or from the local farmers market. The changing colors and tones of the season inspire us for our interior projects as well as our food photography and styling jobs. And next to that Nora get's inspiration from drawing and Laura from poetry."By Mölle linen curtains sea shell Hometour St. Oak apartment from Our Food Stories100% pure linen By Mölle Hometour st. Oak apartment from Our Food Storieswhy natural materials like linen?
"We love the feel and appearance of slow design and natural materials, with linen being one of our favorites. Linen is versatile; it's perfect for dressing a table and ideal for bed sheets and curtains. We have been working with By Mölle for many years, and your linen products are a staple in our own apartment. The St. Oak apartment is also furnished with By Mölle linen curtains and bedding, adding elegance and comfort to the space. All of our guests loved it as well!"

can you share a favourite gluten-free recipe with us?
"Of course! One of our favourite summer recipes is probably this tomato salad with mozzarella. Bon appétit!"
