We are happy to introduce these beautiful handmade ceramic mugs. Exclusively made for us in a limited edition by Annemieke Boots. We fell in love with her stoneware while we visiting her studio based in Amsterdam. Using the best clay, each piece is individual and unique. Annemieke turns all her ceramics by hand. She is uses the natural materials to make designs that are both fragile and pure. Together with her we developed a large mug for everyday rituals. Simple and tactile, nice to hold and a pleasure to use.
Annemieke: "Working with clay is special, using the elements earth, water and fire. With water clay can be molded in the most beautiful shapes, fire will turn it into a solid piece. I make simple, pure shapes. For me it is about passion, care and patience. About working in the presence, preparing the clay, turning it into a shape, drying and heating it to 980 °C. Mixing minerals and oxides into a glaze, the glazing and a second firing at 1250°C, and at last sanding the stoneware. Every mug is unique and has gone through my hands many times before it can be used for a nice cup of coffee or tea."
