Edible gift idea: brownie mix

Edible gift idea: brownie mix

Edible gifts are a wonderful way to show how much you care. Sharing food is an ancient tradition to celebrate friendship. This brownie mix makes such a lovely gift for a friend. In collaboration with Linda Lomelino, photographer and author of Call me Cup Cake  we'll show you how to make this perfect homemade foodie gift

"Edible gifts are a wonderful, unique way to show how much you care. Sharing food is an ancient tradition to celebrate friendship."

It is so easy. To start off you'll need a 1 liter glass jar. Then it's simply a matter of layering in the dry ingredients and printing out the gift tag. The only thing the person who receives it needs to do is pour the contents of the jar into a bowl, add 150 g melted butter, 3 large eggs and 4 tbsp. of coffee and then bake it off course. Easy and delicious!

9-12 servings

Homemade gifts are always appreciated, especially ones that taste good. This idea can be used with any recipe, the problem is fitting all the ingredients into the jar. That’s why it’s good to top off with ingredients like nuts or chocolate, so you can use a little extra or a little less if you need to. Make sure to pack everything tightly (especially the flour and cocoa powder) to keep everything in its place. When test baking the brownies, we bake them for 32 minutes in a 20×20 cm pan – they were almost set but slightly wobbly in the middle and they came out gooey and delicious. After a day in the fridge they have exactly the consistency we like in brownies -firm and chocolatey.
