Linen is made from the fibers of the flax plant. It's the only natural fibre produced in Europe. It was introduced to Europe by Phoenician merchants. The ancient fibre was known to man for decades before christ. In antiquity it symbolized divine purity, thanks to the softness and beauty.
With its blue flower and long stem, which can reach up to one meter in length, flax finds its ideal growing conditions in northern France, Belgium and in the Netherlands. Flax cultivated in Europe is considered the best in the world. Thanks to the encounter between the cold wind from the North, across the English Channel, and the heat of continental Europe which generates frequent rain. The expertise of the planter over the years is key to the quality of the harvest.
